Historical photos of Florence

Torrini Photojournalism is one of the oldest and most prestigious photographic agencies in Italy

Founded in Florence in 1944 by the Italian photographer, photojournalist and journalist Giulio Torrini.

This historic agency has been working in the field of photojournalism for over 50 years, dealing with the photo commentary of the Tuscan territory and in particular of the city of Florence thanks to the use of the most advanced digital systems.

During his long career Torrini managed to document the most significant moments in the history of Florence, such as the liberation of the city in 1944 or the flood of 1966 and with his resourcefulness he managed to capture some world-famous characters, such as actresses Sophia Loren and Elisabeth Taylor, the young and future President of the United States John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the iconic silent film actor Charlie Chaplin, the Shah of Persia Reza Pahlavi.

It has also undertaken multiple collaborations with the publishing world.
